What is Arduino?

Before we start creating lots of cool projects with arduino, what is Arduino?

Arduino is an open source, computer hardware and software company, project, and user community that designs and manufactures microcontroller kits for building digital devices and interactive objects that can sense and control objects in the physical world.

An Arduino board is an open-source programmable computer hardware, which is basically an easy-to-use version of a microcontroller. There are hundreds of versions of the board and literarily thousands of Arduino compatible sensors and breakout boards.

Microcontrollers are so complicated to deal with. There are always so many different kinds with different unique ways to program and interact with them. Arduino is here to fix that. I myself had never done any form of microcontroller programming, but with two 5 minute tutorials on youtube, I started working with Arduino.

Kosview loves Arduino!

Kosview loves Arduino!

Kosview projects is a blog owned by Kosview Productions aimed at teaching every one on topics relating to Computer engineering, Computer science, programming, just general “tech stuff”.

I am dedicating this site to my beloved aunty Chinyere Azubuike Lucy, who more than anyone has suported me, believed in me and been there for me, encouraging me throughout. Thank you and I love you!

Started on March 15th 2017, by me: Ejimonu Kosisochukwu Gabriel; a student of Computer Engineering, Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD), Nigeria in West Africa.

My aim is to debunk this theory that Computer engineering is sooo difficult, and you just have to be a genius to be a programmer, or that programmers are weirdos or just boring old farts who is “forever alone”.     Ok maybe some programmers are geniuses and some are weird, but thats up to you. I am here to show you how to create cool projects with ARDUINO and tell you that you don’t need to know a word of code to impress your friends with some fantastic home-made electronic projects… I mean if some dude from Africa can do it, why can’t you?

If you are seeing a ton of ads, please don’t mind them. They help keep the site up and pay for hosting…afterall, I am a college student, in Africa! So surely I need money. I mean this is better than me emailing you  that “my $500,000 is stuck in Nigerian customs and I need $5,000 to get it. I promise to pay you $25,000 once I get it back.”. So if possible, keep my site open in a separate tab, click on a few ads, etc. It would really go a long way in helping me keep the site up 🙂
